Full Idea
The crucial feature of the determinates / determinables relation is that to possess the determinable property, an object must possess exactly one of the determinate properties.
Gist of Idea
A determinate property must be a unique instance of the determinable class

A Reaction
This sounds like a determinable being a function, and the determinate being its output. If 'scarlet' is a determinate of the determinables 'red' or 'coloured', it is not obvious that there is only one possible shade of scarlet. This schema oversimplifies.
