Plato lost the real fruit of his opinion, by considering forms as absolutely abstracted from matter, and not confined and determined by matter.

This thought is roughly what got me interested in abstraction, on which you will find many ideas in this database. Research into Bacon's thought is hampered by that fact that the logicians have hijacked abstraction in recent philosophy.
